DKLM Law Firm is an established Central London law firm with a strong international focus. Based in EC1, close to the city, on the now famous silicone roundabout and in the heart of “Tech City”, the expert legal teams offer a complete range of legal services to private and commercial clients.
DKLM was formed in 2004, and has doubled in size in the last five years. In its 12th successful year DKLM continues to expand its practice areas and client base. DKLM has always been careful to listen to the needs of its clients, and as we have expanded both nationally and internationally and sought out new opportunities for the firm and clients, both nationally and internationally.

Origin of the Name
The name DKLM is formed from the initials of the four founding partners: Alan Dixon, Jeremy Kleinfeld, Philip Li and Kiran Morzeria.
Each of these founding partners come from very different communities and have very different backgrounds. From its inception, the foundation stone of the firm has been the diversity of its clients, partners and staff as evidenced by the many languages spoken, including Mandarin; Cantonese; Malay; French; Spanish; Italian, Gujarati; Urdu; Hindi and Punjabi.
As Managing Partner since the firm’s inception in 2004, Alan is responsible for the firm’s overall direction and strategy both domestically and internationally, and with the assistance of his partners and has travelled to China on a number of occasions to establish and promote the firm’s association with Zhonglun W&D Law Firm and its associates.
He studied at the LSE and trained with a City firm. He was the Head of the Landlord and Tenant Litigation department at his previous firm and also heads the Property Disputes department at DKLM.
He brings over 25 years’ experience in dealing with all kinds of property disputes and offering clients both practical and tactical advice to landlords and tenants, including possession cases, lease renewals, dilapidation claims, trespass and nuisance actions, forfeiture claims and claims against original tenants and guarantors.
Alan writes articles on specialist topics and presents seminars on landlord and tenant and property related matters to clients and other property professionals. He is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the Law Management Section of the Law Society.
Senior Partner of DKLM Law Firm
Jeremy qualified as a solicitor in 1980. He is the Senior Partner of DKLM and also the firm’s Finance Partner. He is an experienced and formidable litigator acting for both claimants and defendants from many jurisdictions, be they individuals or companies, in a wide range of commercial based disputes.
Jeremy is proactive and strives to offer a solution based commercial litigation service, with a keen eye towards ensuring that any resolution is financially prudent. His skill is to identify the client’s objective and to “look outside the box” in order to achieve the desired outcome.
His company commercial expertise includes company acquisitions, disposals and mergers, drafting and negotiating share purchase, shareholders and director’s agreements, drafting and negotiating of business contracts of all descriptions. Jeremy works closely with our associated offices in China.
As a CEDR accredited mediator he is also keen to explore alternative means of resolving disputes without resorting to court proceedings. His insolvency experience extends to advising and assisting on all aspects of personal insolvency related work including bankruptcy and individual voluntary arrangements and insolvency recovery action.
Philip qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and is one of the four founding partners of DKLM Law Firm in UK. He is devoted to his work and can be relied upon to “get the deal done”.
He deals with all aspects of non-contentious commercial and residential property matters and particularly specialises in the acquisition and sale of all types of businesses which include public houses, clubs, convenience stores, restaurants/hot food premises, post offices, petrol stations, pharmacies, retail shops, warehouses, industrial units, residential and nursing care homes.
Philip is also experienced in dealing with office leases and with the purchase and sale of both commercial and residential portfolio investments, site acquisitions for development and new build off plan purchases.
He is responsible for setting up DKLM’s licensing team and deals with all aspects of licensing work involving the application for the grant of new premises licenses, transfers and variations.
Philip has extensive links with the Chinese community in London and is an active member of numerous associations raising funds to support local charities including the London Chinatown Lions Club and the Hong Kong Association.
He is responsible for the development of Chinese connections in the Far East and regularly organises and speaks at investment seminars both in the UK and China. He is a member of the 48 Group and the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC).
He enjoys travelling to Hong Kong and China when the opportunity arises. He is a keen golfer and plays for the Chiswick Hockey Team.
Kiran qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and is an experienced and proactive solicitor specialising in the acquisition and sale of both residential and commercial property and developments, commercial leases and secured property finance.
Kiran also advises in respect of business sales, advising on purchase vehicles including trusts and offshore structures often involve handling complex issues under tight deadlines. He understands his clients’ business and assists them in formulating strategy and heads of terms before any legal work is undertaken.
He acts for property investment companies, property developers, banks, financial institutions, high profile and high net worth individuals who testify to his excellent communication skills, practical approach, business sense and commercial acumen.
He has recently been involved in restructuring several multi million pound property portfolios, raising secured capital for clients acquiring development sites, setting up and leading legal teams dealing with property aspects within share purchase agreements and setting up legal documents for industrial estates and business parks.
Kiran has an extensive network of clients and contacts within the Indian and Asian communities worldwide. He is well known in the community he serves and is a member of various community Associations.
Kiran supports West Ham United and is a keep fit enthusiast.
